Something BIG happened today!

After being in my foster home for seven months, I was pretty sure my furever family must have gotten lost. 

But yesterday, I was just hanging out and these two people walked in and I got the love hearts over my eyes. They were the most prettiest and handsome people in the world. They got down on the floor with me and loved on me so much. My butt was just wiggling out of my control. 

And then they told me they were my new 

mom and dad and I was going to go live with them forever! They said they would be back in the morning to take me to my new home. 

Well, I didn’t hesitate. I ran around the house packing my bag with all my toys and food. I made sure I went to bed early, so I could get my beauty sleep and be well rested for the best day of my life. 

Dani and Brian are no strangers to rescue. They adopted a few years ago from Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue. Sadly, they lost their sweet boy, Bear, last year. Once they decided they were ready to adopt again, they pulled up our website and saw Rodney’s big handsome face looking back at them. They just knew that he was their boy. 

Rodney will be the only baby in the house and be so spoiled and loved.

I am 6 years old and 73 pounds of Bulldog muscle. My family decided it was time for me to join rescue. Mom put me in a crate and was crying, and I was just looking around, not really knowing what to do.
You see, my parents said I love to play a special game, “I Spy.” Everything I spy is mine and I like to play keep-away with it. If you try to take it from me, the game changes to Tug-o-War. See, all of life is a game!
My parents didn’t see it the way I did. They were afraid I was going to hurt the mini-human if he tried to take back one of his toys I “found” and made mine. My family said they even took me to a trainer to work with me, but I guess it didn’t help much.
I am in rescue looking for a family who does not have any mini-humans I might accidentally harm. I need a patient family who will work with me and help me learn to share and not take everything “I Spy” as mine. I am in very good health already ~ I am just ready to find my new forever home.
6/24/21 Update: I have been chilling in a foster home for about a week now and thought I should tell everyone about myself.
Ladies, I am 75 pounds of beautiful Bulldog man. I am really enjoying hanging out with the other lady Bulldog here, but not gonna lie, I don’t really like the other man Bulldog. Could be because he is almost my size, he is male or because I don’t want him coming near my girl, Lola Grace. Who knows?
Anyway, I do love a good game of “keep away.” I like to steal stuff and not give it back to the foster parents here. They are working with me on this and I am doing great. They play a game called “trade.” They tell me to trade and I give the thing I’m not supposed to have back and in turn they give me something better.
I also have a confession. I think I was a little nervous in my first few days and kind of got a little frisky with both foster parents’ legs. 😳 I have stopped that though.
I have not had any accidents inside and I eat all my food. They have put me on something called a diet? I don’t like the sound of that, but as long as I get food, I am happy.
Anyway, I am going to get back to my nap. I will start checking out applications soon, so you better get yours in now and maybe you’ll get matched to me. You don’t want to miss out on a handsome beefcake Bulldog like me!
7/5/21 Update:  My name is Rodney, and I am a kleptomaniac. I just can’t help myself. When I see a shoe without a foot in it, I lose control and have to make it mine. I also like hats, blankets potted plants and possibly some other things. I really am a good boy, but at times, I like to get a little mischievous and watch the foster parents run.
I would really love a family that will have time to play tug o’ war with me. It’s my most favorite game.
I can’t wait to start meeting some potential families, so I can test out their tug o’ war skills.
7/9/21 Update:  The odd couple! Lola Grace has some medical issues and foster brother Rodney has taken on the role of her bodyguard!

8/13/21 Update:  Foster boy Rodney has been in his foster home for about a month now and has settled in nicely.

Rodney just loves to play with toys and when he wants you to play with him, you will know. He isn’t discreet. Rodney loves to bring his toys to dare you to try and take it. He doesn’t want you to have it, but loves to watch you try.  We have been working with Rodney on his “urge to steal”. He is doing well with trading but sometimes he just wants a good old game of tug-o-war!

Rodney is a really sweet guy. He is also a typical Bulldog and likes to do things in his own time. He still isn’t keen on the other male bulldog in the house, but he still loves his foster sister and hangs out with her all day.

10/25/21 Update:  Rodney continues to keep us all entertained. We actually can’t believe we still have him. 

It took a little work at the start to help him control his stealing tendencies, but he is really doing great (boy still can’t resist a nice shoe). 

Rodney LOVES to play, but he can also be a very chilled-out guy. He spends most of his foster momma’s work day sleeping beside her. 

He absolutely loves his foster sister. We think he might do well with another female dog in the house, but we believe he would be happy to be an only too.

Rodney knows how to sit, shake hands, is fully potty trained and he also puts himself to bed at night. 

He went out to Puckett’s to have his pictures taken last weekend and was fully prepared to show off all of that handsomeness. 

He’s planning to attend our Pizza Paw-ty at Campisi’s in Fort Worth on Sunday, Oct. 24. Come out to meet him!

1/5/22 Update:   Rodney was chilly, so this foster momma searched through all the doggy clothes and was able to find the one and only sweater to fit our big handsome guy. I think he totally pulls off the pink.

1/21/22 Update:  Rodney has been in his foster home about six months and he’s ready to find his furever family. 

He’s listed the 10 most important things he requires:

1. Toys! This boy will spend the whole day playing if you let him. 

2. A comfy bed. He will just melt right in there. 

3. Food. This boy LOVES food. 

4. Snacks. He just realized he loves apples. 

5. Walks. Rodney is working on his fitness so would love to take a short walk most days. 

6. Tug o’ war partner. Most favorite game in the world. 

7.  Grass to roll around on. 

8. Less baths. Does NOT enjoy them!

9. No early mornings. Does NOT enjoy those either. 

10. Someone to love him forever. 

He doesn’t ask for much and is such an easy houseguest. If you want a friend that will make you laugh all the time, Rodney could be your man!
