My family loved dogs and they realized they had too many. They loved us all, but knew it would be very easy for me to find a new home. So they called my new friend, Debe, and and she came to get me. She then turned me over to this Bulldog rescue.
My name is Erin and I am only 5 months old. I am in good shape, except for an ulcer on one eye that my former family was treating with some special ointment.
I don’t know much about walking on a leash and I don’t always go outside when I am supposed to…. That’s because I am still very much a puppy. I’m a work in progress!
Next week, I will go see Dr. Larsen and sit in her lap. She will love holding me because I don’t take up much room. I need to get my eye checked and some work done in a few weeks. I am so excited about finding a new family to love me as much as I am sure I’ll love them.
6/9/22 Update: Erin is such a clown, yet she is still very shy. She retreats to her crate and stays until we have to coax her out. She will run around with the other foster dogs some, but she still prefers to be by herself. She is doing better than I expected in her potty training. Tomorrow she goes to see Dr. Larsen and get her eye checked out.
6/21/22 Update: She is all puppy! Her eye ulcer is still bad, but gradually getting better. Dr. Larsen thought it would take six to eight weeks to completely heal and may always have some scarring.
She loves to run and play with the other dogs. She still hides in her open crate a lot, but is venturing out more on her own and exploring new parts of the house. She can definitely hold her own in daily wrestlemania sessions with the other young dogs.
She is scheduled for her spay in a couple of weeks.
7/25/22 Update: Erin continues to do well with her foster siblings and foster family. Her ulcerated eye is almost healed, but needs a couple more weeks of medication.
She enjoys playtime, whether it is by herself or with other dogs. Sometimes she crowds in a ring with them sleeping and gets caught, but she still remains a little shy and tentative about certain things. Mainly, she still gets scared going in and out doors.
Now, if we can just get her house trained, she will be just about perfect for anyone!
8/3/22 Update: Erin continues to be a delight! Her eye is looking so much better. She still has plenty of puppy energy, but is learning to better control it. She is also beginning to get the hang of why we go outside to potty. There are still some accidents, but at least it is getting better.
She loves to play by herself, or she will play with any of the resident bulldogs. She still exhibits some fear of new things, but is learning to press on in spite of those fears. Every day, you can see her confidence build.
8/25/22 Update: Erin continues to be a playful delight. She watches everything you do, even if that means looking over the back of the couch. She is definitely a goofy little clown who loves the attention. We continue with the twice daily eye meds. She will be nine months old in two weeks.
