Bane

Hello everyone, Bane here and this week I joined rescue!  You may recognize me. I was surrendered to a local shelter at age 10 with the name Boss. I instantly became a social media sensation. My post had over 800 shares and the comments were incredible. I was “shared and then shared some more!”

How could I end up at the shelter at 10 years old?  I wondered that myself. After all, 10 is a senior for a bulldog. This is supposed to be “my golden years.” My retirement years. My hanging out with a drink in my paw’s years. Not the cold concrete floor of a shelter years. But that is what happened to me.  And honestly, I wondered if would anyone would come for me.  At 10 I am no “spring chicken.”

I was starting to worry because, even though a lot of people commented that they would take me, I was tagged “rescue only.” I guess because of my age.  But you know what? The entire time LSBCR had tagged me I was just worrying for no reason.

I had a name change when I left the shelter. I changed my name to Bane.  And everyone that has met me says there is no way I am 10.  I walk great on a leash. I have loved ever dog I have met. My skin needs some TLC and the back of my legs have lost a lot of fur from sitting on concrete. Matter of fact they are furless.  But better days are ahead for me.

Watch for updates and before you know you will see me again on social media with my new family. A lot of people love seniors, and someone is surely going to love me.

9/6/22 Update:  Bane is not only the sweetest dog, he’s the best! He’s quiet and never barks. He’s potty pad trained. When I say, “Let’s go outside,” he heads to the door. He knows when it’s time to eat and get treats.

Bane is getting the royal treatment here. He got a new collar and a new bed (which he hardly uses because foster papaw lets him sleep on the couch).

He follows me all over the house. He does great in the bathtub. He likes to go on walks. He is kennel trained, but he prefers to not be in one, so I don’t push him.

He does have a couple of health issues, but he is on medication for those.

He would do great with a family with small dogs. He’s so laid back, he would do well in a low-activity household. He hasn’t been cat tested.

Bane is a wonderful dog and the best foster dog I have had. Stay tuned, folks. There’s a family out there for Bane!

9/23/22 Update:  He’s the Sweetest Bulldog, he’s laid back and calm. He would do great with a family with small kids or bigger kids. Really he would do great with anyone. He’s potty pad trained, he will go outside when I tell him Let’s go potty. He’s kennel trained but he rather not be in one. Bane is the Best Dog. Bane is looking for his Furever Family so get your Applications in to give Bane a Loving Furever Home.
